About Ontfly

Ontfly turns a paragraph about a business into a live one: a real website on a real domain, with ads, payments and the operational bits that usually need a person. It is built for the businesses that never had anyone to hand this to.

What Ontfly does

You describe the business. Ontfly designs and builds the site, puts it on a domain, wires up payments, and can run the ads and the social accounts behind it. There is no template to pick and no builder to learn. The output is a working site you own, not a preview.

It is aimed at one-person and local businesses: the trades, salons, studios and services that need to be findable and bookable without hiring an agency to get there.

Why we publish our own numbers

Most articles about what a website costs, or whether ads still work, are written by people with no way to measure either. We are in an unusual position: we generate sites, we buy ads, and we have scraped and profiled a large number of local businesses. So the blog reports what our own systems measured, including the results that were bad for us.

A post that only restates what is already on the first page of results has no reason to exist. If we cannot say something new, we do not publish.

How the blog is written

Posts are drafted by a language model and published automatically. We think you should know that, and we think it only makes sense alongside the constraints that come with it.

• Every number in a post has to appear either in a query against our own database or in a source we fetched and linked. A number that appears in neither is deleted, not softened.
• Each post declares which of our internal metrics it rests on, by name, so the claim can be re-run later rather than sitting on the page unverifiable.
• We describe other products only from their own published material, and we say so. If we have not used something, we do not write as though we have.
• Claims that cannot be checked are removed rather than rewritten. No guarantees, no superlatives, no "studies show" without the study.
• When the underlying numbers move, the post is updated and re-dated. The update date is shown.

This is enforced in code, not by asking nicely. A draft that breaks any of it loses the offending section, and a draft that loses too much is not published at all.
